Ashton Turner
Professional Golfer
Ashton is from Alford in Lincolnshire and plays his club golf at Kenwick Park in Louth. Having turned pro in 2016, he is currently on the PGA Europro Tour and in 2018 competed in the 147th Open, but his route to becoming professional was unlike many of his competitors.
Ashton was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at a very young age. His Ataxia was discovered following a bad fall that resulted in a fractured skull when he was just a one-year-old. Doctors told his parents that he might never walk properly and that intense physiotherapy sessions would be needed. That is when the decision was made for Ashton to take up golf as a means of sports therapy. By the age of six his condition was unnoticeable and since then his golfing career has gone from strength to strength!

“It is an honour for me to be the first Patron of the Lincolnshire Cerebral Palsy Society. The condition was a big part of my early days and if through my involvement with such a great cause I can bring some awareness and inspiration to others suffering, or who have suffered, then I will be happy.”
